STREAMS OF JOY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY 22ND JULY 2024
TODAY’S TOPIC: NOT BY REALITY
SCRIPTURE: “This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” (1 Samuel 17: 46)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, David declared that he would cut off the head of Goliath. David had no sword in his hands, but he kept declaring that he would cut off the head of his opponent. David’s confession was based on what he didn’t have. He was declaring what he did not have resources to accomplish. He was declaring what he wanted to see, without having resources to make it happen. David’s confession was not based on his reality.
Friend, do not limit your confession to what you have capacity to deliver on. Do not limit your confession to the things that are within your power to achieve. Do not limit your confession to what eyes can see at the moment. Do not limit your confession to what you have or what you do not have. Do not limit your confession to the boundaries of current capacity. Don’t declare only the much you can do for now. Don’t limit your confession.
At the time he declared that he would cut off Goliath’s head, David had no sword; but in a matter of time, when Goliath fell, he took Goliath’s sword and cut off his head. What he declared became his reality. The sword of his enemy became the resource that would help him to achieve what he declared. Keep declaring what you want to see, and the God who makes your declaration come to pass will provide the ‘sword’.
The confession of faith is not to say what you have judged yourself able to do. The confession of faith is to speak what God can enable you to do. To speak in faith is to declare what the help of God is able to orchestrate. Stop limiting your confession to what you have judged yourself able to achieve. Let your faith grow to the point of proclaiming what you have no resources to accomplish. Let your faith rise above your capacity or lack of it.
The same God who caused David to experience the fulfillment of his declaration, by using Goliath’s sword, will make provision for the fulfillment of your confession. Keep speaking, keep declaring, and God will make it happen.
Numbers 14: 28 says: “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:”
Declare With Me: God is making provisions for my confessions of faith, in Jesus’ name!
